Our Lamas
His Holiness Sakya Trizin
After the take-over of Tibet in 1959, the Sakya Trizin arrived in India after a treacherous journey over the Himalayas. He established the Sakya Monastery at Rajpur, Dehradun.
Khenpo Lekshey
"Come here when you have time or when you are doing important things or even when you have some problems, sickness etc... and say prayers and prayer is not necessarily to read Buddhist text. Prayers you can make with your own words and with your own mind."
The Venerable Khenpo Thubten Nyima & The Venerable Khenpo Jamyang Lekshey
The Venerable Khenpo Thubten Nyima with his brother, the Venerable Khenpo Jamyang Lekshey founded our new Buddhist Centre were only small children when they left Tibet.
Tibetan Buddhism is tolerant and respects all beliefs and the Lamas work tirelessly for the benefit of all beings with love and compassion. They have vast wisdom of training the mind and meditation, following original lineage teachings which are thousands of years old.
We hope to practise these principles at our Sakya Buddhist Centre, to create a good and helpful atmosphere and benefit in particular the local community.
We Welcome Everyone
You don't need to be a Buddhist to find a warm welcome here. We are a friendly community in Bournemouth, offering a peaceful sanctuary for everyone.
Whether you are looking to learn meditation for stress relief, explore the profound wisdom of Buddhist teachings, or simply find a supportive community, our doors are open. All are welcome.
